The American Marble and Toy Museum

The American Marble and Toy Museum

We are happy to announce that we finally opened again to the public in the summer of 2003. The American Marble and Toy Museum teamed up with other Akron area historical organizations to participate in forming: "Akron: City of Invention".

Caption for the photo above:

The site of Akron’s newest park on South Main Street was once the home of The American Marble and Toy Manufacturing Company (1891- 1904)- America’s largest toy company of the 19th century. The company made ceramic and glass marbles, 'little brown jugs", miniature shoes, boots, cats, dogs, Santa's, flower pots, and penny banks. It’s a fitting site for The American Marble & Toy Museum to be located in the old O’Neil’s complex on the left hand side of the photo.
